Sailor Moon. She was first born a princess of the moon kingdom, then reincarnated as Usagi Tsukino who could transform into Sailor Moon. As the story progresses she gets stronger weapons, and stronger identities-- from Sailormoon, to Super Sailormoon, to Eternal Sailormoon (above picture), to, in the distant future, Neo-Queen Serenity, and in an alternate reality, Sailor Cosmos and thus Sailor Chibichibi. Usagi is the girlfriend of Mamoru, the protector of Earth, and lives with her mom, dad, brother Shingo, Luna (her talking cat), and in the series R, S, and SuperS, Chibi-usa. She is a bit of a crybaby, a little irresponsible and eternally hungry, but she has a neverending devotion to friend and family.

Sailor Mercury. Her alter-ego, Ami Mizuno, is a genius girl who works constantly to get good grades. She lives with her mother, a nurse, and dreams of becoming a doctor. As Sailormercury she has a minicomputer with a visor to calculate enemies' appearances and such. Mercury has been protecting Princess Serenity with the others of the inner senshi since the Silver Millenium.

Sailor Mars. A shinto priestess with ESP, Rei Hino, a.k.a. Sailor Mars lives in a shrine with her grandfather and Yuuichiro, a musician in training who resides in the temple, and goes to a private school, but that doesn't keep her from saving the world with the other senshi. She has the extraordinary ability to sense when an enemy is around before it can be seen, and has had dreams about future dangers.

Sailor Jupiter. Makoto Kino, also Sailor Jupiter, is a fiesty girl, constantly getting into fights, which has caused her to be moved from school to school. She is one of the most powerful of the inner senshi, and can defeat a daemon alone without the help of Sailor Moon(though not too common). She loves to cook and keeps her house clean, which is her own because her parents were killed in a plane crash and she has no siblings.

Sailor Venus. Minako Aino is Sailor Venus, and even Sailor V, a senshi who was discovered before Sailor Moon by Artemis, a cat she lives with, in a series separate of Sailor Moon. She resembles Usagi in a few personality quirks and looks, and is a child of the pop world as much as she is a devoted guy-chaser. Venus is the untitled leader of the inner senshi.

Sailor Chibimoon. Chibi-usa came from the future in the R series to find the Ginzuishou. She returned in the S series to train as a senshi, Sailor Chibimoon. She is the future daughter of Mamoru and Usagi, and a princess in her real time. She has a kitten named Diana, and while in Usagi's time lives with her posing as Usagi's sister. Or cousin. She plays an important role in the Super S series as she is the only one who knows about Helios.

Sailor Uranus. Haruko Tenou first appears in the S series fully concsious that she is Sailor Uranus. Haruka is constantly by Sailor Neptune's side, which makes them an inseparable pair. In the manga she can switch genders. She possesses a talisman, an important artifact in the S series, called the Space Sword. Her hobbies include judo and bike racing, and she lives with Neptune.

Sailor Neptune. Neptune, Michiru Kaioh, is a quiet, very talented young woman, who lives with Haruka. She plays violin extremely well and also enjoys swimming. She also possesses a talisman, a Deep Sea Mirror in which she can see danger approaching. Her element is the ocean, around which her attacks are based.

Sailor Pluto. Setsuna Meioh is in the S series and can transform into Sailor Pluto. She can also be seen in a few episodes of the R series, because she is the keeper of time. Pluto is good friends with Chibi-usa, who calls her Pu. She is the keeper of the Third Talisman, a garnet orb kept on her key staff. In the manga she works as a scientist, appearing late in the S series.

Sailor Saturn. Hotaru Tomoe is an extremely mysterious girl appearing in the S series as the daughter of Dr. Tomoe. Chibi-usa quickly becomes friends with Saturn, who was in an accident when she was very young so her body became inhabited by Mistress 9. She does not become Sailor Saturn until the very late SuperS series, but it is shown that she is the goddess of destruction in the S series.

Sailor Starlights. Taiki Kou, Seiya Kou and Yaten Kou make up the trio of the Starlights, as Starmaker, Starfighter and Starhealer. They came to earth to look for Princess Kakyuu, who had escaped from her planet because Sailor Galaxia was destroying it, and disguised themselves as male singers to find her in the Sailorstars series. While Mamoru is away, Seiya falls in love with Usagi, but in the end it is Mamoru who Usagi stays with.

Tuxedo Kamen. Mamoru Chiba has been in the story since the beginning, as a mysterious young man who rescues Sailor Moon in times of need. He is the protector of the Earth, and he and Usagi have been in love since the Silver Millenium. Mamoru is also somewhat linked to Helios in Elysion. In the future he is NeoKing Endymion, Chibi-usa's father.

Feline Guardians. Artemis, Luna and their future daughter Diana advise and aid the Senshi as much as they can. They help in discovering new senshi and finding information about enemies and such. Artemis (the white cat) lives with Minako, Luna (the black cat) lives with Usagi, and Diana (the little gray one) comes from the future with Chibi-usa as her kitten.
